The other beautiful game: our IT security channel research kicks off

October 6, 2010

It must be because RSA Europe is kicking off in London next week that we are thinking of Britain’s favourite ball game: football (or should I say “soccer” for our American cousins). But as the world’s finest security heroes and heroines set to gather in the UK’s noble capital, we are kicking off a survey into what makes the IT security channel tick.

If you are in the know about IT security in the channel, let us know and be in with a chance to win an iPod nano or one of the runner’s up prizes: a signed copy of Kai Roer’s The Leaders Workbook or Guy Clapperton’s This is Social Media.

The research will ask a variety of channel players from VARs to distributors about the most important factors for success in the channel.

  • What makes a killer IT security channel strategy?
  • Where do channel experts see the biggest opportunities in the IT security space?
  • What is driving customers to buy security products?
  • What verticals are being targeted?
  • Does the channel using social media to engage with their partners and their customers? And what types? Twitter? LinkedIn? Facebook? Blogs?

The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete and will close later this year. Like so many fine IT related things these days, it is co-located with a sister survey on IT storage – so just ignore those questions if they are not your bag, baby (as London’s finest, Austin Powers, might say).

Good luck and thanks for participating in this survey!
