By Rosalind Carr, @Rosalind_at_O

B2B publishers the 2112 Group and Incisive Media formed a recent partnership in a move to extend their  following internationally.

This recent merge will, they hope, establish a combined identity, sparking transatlantic connections and increased readership for 2112 Group’s blog Channelnomics and Incisive Media’s print publication CRN UK and its website, ChannelWeb.co.uk.

CRN explains the goal of this relationship is to “develop media and consultative products that span the transatlantic technology marketplace to support and enable tens of thousands of IT resellers and integrators.”  With this internationally integrated approach in mind, Channelnomics and CRN UK intend to produce joint editorial products in the next year, emphasizing their union through combined editorial objectives. Simon Quicke - Editor in Chief -MicroScope - TechTarget party Dec 2012

Simon Quicke, Editor of MicroScope

This is an exciting year for the TechTarget team. We recently attended an auspicious birthday party for UK channel publication MicroScope (@ChannelNews) at TechTarget’s London offices. MicroScope was launched in 1982, making it older than some members of our staff. Simon Quicke, Editor of MicroScope, explained that MicroScope’s longevity shows the channel market is still relevant. Over the last 30 years, MicroScope has evolved from a print publication into a website that “provides significant added value services over and above news and analysis – such as seminars and events, a VAR and distributor directory, research, whitepapers, technical articles and background papers,” to quote a recent tribute to MicroScope. Happy birthday, MicroScope!

Of course, the birthday party wasn’t enough. At the same time, there was another celebration, this one concerning TechTarget’s acquisition of French enterprise technology publication LeMagIT (@LeMagIT). Read the rest of this entry »

December 14, 2012

By Rosalind Carr, @Rosalind_at_O

In the last few weeks, the role of social media has been on our minds, and we’ve started to question how many of us really use this platform to its full potential. At the Intellect headquarters in London last month, some of the team attended “Marketing and Sales Group Meeting: CRM and Social Business – Reinvigorating the existing and adding the new.” Here the managing director of Redd Marketing, Leigh Hopwood, spoke on how best to utilize your social media and truly connect with and understand your brand’s followers. Hopwood stressed the importance of social media, noting Read the rest of this entry »
